Casey Georgi

Casey hails from the quaint little town of Nyack, New York, as seen in the paintings of Edward Hopper. Casey received her Bachelor's in Music Education at Ithaca College in 2011. In the years since, Casey developed a penchant for audio storytelling and decided to pursue a career as a radio producer. She received her graduate certificate from the Salt Institute for Documentary Studies in Radio and Podcasting in December of 2017. Her recent projects have featured stories about immigration, a man living in the woods, a natural disaster, an unlikely family business, and music history.

# About

I'm a freelance podcast producer living in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I currently teach an "Introduction to Podcasting" class at the [Pittsburgh Center for the Arts and Media](https://pghartsmedia.org/). Most recently I was a producer for *Cheat!*, a show that thoughtfully explored the realm of scams and fraudsters, hosted by award-winning journalist, Alzo Slade. I've also worked on podcasts for Sony Music, The Wall Street Journal, Audioboom, G/O Media's Lifehacker, Wondery with the LA Times, and Slate Studios.

In 2017 I went to the Salt Institute for Documentary Studies in Portland, Maine and have been making audio stories ever since. Some of my favorite projects I've worked on include: making a home on the moon, a woman surviving a tsunami, and St. Vincent interviewing up-and-coming artists in the shower.
